Our Friends Around the World
At God's Backyard, we believe that Jesus wants us to help other people.
That's why each week our offering supports two friends from two different countries!
Meet Luis!
Luis David (pronounced Loo-ees Da-veed) is our friend from Peru.
Luis loves to play soccer (though he calls it futbol), and he likes to go to school. Because the God's Backyard kids help Luis, he's able to have enough to eat, clothes to wear, and go to a school where he can learn about Jesus.
We sometimes send Luis letters and pictures of us. We even get a letter from him from time to time. Doesn't it make you feel great to know that we're helping someone that we've never met?? That's sounds like something that Jesus would do!
Meet Lisma!
Lisma (pronounced Leesma) is our special friend from Indonesia.
Like Luis, Lisma is our friend that we've never met, yet she's a special part of God's Backyard.
Lisma lives with her parents and loves to dance and play with her dolls. She's too young to write yet, but her teachers tell us that she loves to go to school.
